`... not only here`

Personal exhibition of graphics by Evgenia Vasilchenko

On September 18, 2018, a personal exhibition of graphics by Yevhenia Vasylchenko was opened at the Cherkasy Art Museum. In 2014, for the first time, residents of Cherkasy had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of Cherkasy artist and poet Evgenia Vasilchenko. This is now the third exhibition of the artist in the art museum. Its peculiarity is the exhibited series of works, including picturesque landscapes of the Cherkasy Dnieper, made with colored pencils, black-and-white diptychs in the effect of positive-negative reflection borrowed from photographic art, as well as posters. The works presented at the exhibition are supplemented by the author's poems (translated into Ukrainian by Kateryna Grabareva (pseudonym Soul Kindred)).

Actually, the artist says the following about the exhibition:

`This exhibition is about the fact that there is not only a color but also a black and white perception of the world… not only our real world but also parallel worlds… and along with the same reality fiction… dream… literary worlds … artistic…

Ironically, at first I began to recreate my fantasies… visions… in b / w series of works (they are also present here), and now I wanted the color… nature… the beauty that always surrounds us… and we do not notice it in these simple things

I was looking for a means of reproduction… but stopped at ordinary pencils… first those that remained from childhood (I drew with them a series of sketches for postcards with views of Cherkasy), and then chose professional pencils

I hope you will like it… and you will linger to keep an eye on some of them…`

The exhibition will last until October 21, 2018. The exhibition has been extended until November 5.

‘Night at the Museum’ - project of ChNU ‘Cardboard Box’

On May 20, 2017 at 6 pm within the framework of the European annual action `Night at the Museum` in the Cherkasy Regional Art Museum a student socially-oriented project `CARDBOARD BOX – 3` was implemented, dedicated to the current social, psychological, philosophical problem of addiction. closet with `old` things. Each of us has such a closet. . Going through our closet of `old` things, you find yourself in another mysterious place - where in the end all the old things are - in a cardboard box. The social project `Cardboard Box III` will reveal the main tags of human dependence - what keeps the soul and body in an invisible chain

The philosophical component of the project is complemented by the works of Cherkasy graphic artist Evgenia Vasilchenko. Evgenia Vasilchenko 's exhibition `Achromatisms` became a subtle nuance of the art platform. Graphic works with poems by the author and Ukrainian translation by Kateryna Grabareva, subtly and ironically covered the internal conflicts of man: the struggle for power, the desire to seem better, wandering in pseudo-values, comfortable indifference, fear of losing sight. Many warm words were said to the talented artist who created these wise and profound works.

Organizers of the curatorial project: Oksana Anatoliyivna Pushonkova (Institute of History and Philosophy) and Inna Volodymyrivna Chenbay (Institute of Pedagogical Education, Social Work and Art).
