On January 27, 2021, the Cherkasy Art Museum hosted an exhibition-presentation of the book ‘Splashes of Beads’ by graphic artist and author of white poems Evgenia Vasilchenko.
Snow-white weightlessness, lightness, the mystery of the black-and-white world, sensual female images of graphics supplemented by the consonances of white poetry. The Lord blessed this evening with beautiful fresh snow, and as dusk began to fall on the ground, the small white hall of the museum where the exhibition was held was filled with a mysterious glow. It seemed so simple: an empty room with white walls, translucent tulle curtains, but so much Life, elegance, sophistication, soulfulness of graphic works and philosophical, lyrical lines, and of course endearing, dreamy visitors – Breathing airy fabric, creative energy, warm conversations, interpretations, reading the author, impressions, and once again a pleasant process of contemplation. My friend, successfully noted the presence of the East and Japanese notes in the work, and so symbolically and unforgettable the presence of snow in some works of the artist … Charming, unforgettable evening, minimalism in everything, air weightlessness, lightness, philosophical lyricism, combination of Eastern and Western micro , and of course a meaningful intention. Thank you, dear and unique artist Zhenya Vasilchenko, who was able to immerse us in a fabulous black and white sensual and so unlike anyone else’s world and make our evening so amazing …

The exhibition features 30 enlarged graphic works, out of 128 presented in the book ‘Splashes of Beads’. Graphic works are accompanied by the author’s texts (translated into Ukrainian by Kateryna Grabareva). Thanks to this combination, the meaning of both facets of creativity reaches a new level of impressiveness.
Evgenia Vasilchenko’s graphic works are in black and white, but in combination with poetry they convey the colorful world of the author’s philosophical thoughts and feelings. Illustrations accompanied by white unrhymed poems open up the cosmos, which is not far away, but here, next to it, intertwined with everyday life in one whole…
The exhibition runs until March 6, 2021.
